I want to say that if you have a defaulted student loan and it is with OSI Education Outsourcing then I must say that I feel really really bad for you. I have tried working with this company to help my clients get reasonable and affordable payment plans and to no avail will this happen with this collection agency. I find myself having to record all conversations with them so that I can play the unprofessional collection representatives that represent OSI and their unfortunate clients. I have learned to circumvent them and go directly to the creditor which I recommend for anyone who is unfortunate enough to have their defaulted debt with this collection agency. I want everyone to know that OSI Education Services considers all people who are inside there data-system to be “DEBTORS” and I question whether or not they have any feelings for their clients - borrowers and apparently everyone who works for OSI Education Services have perfect credit and no financial worries, so please do not think for 1 second that they will have any compassion for your problems. I want to stress to everyone do not let them know where you work - they will use it against you and if you dont do what they demand then they turn the tables immediately against you and then make life at your work more miserable then it needs to be. If you are working with this company with regards to any type of defaulted student loan then please call us so that we can get you out from under their thumb as quickly as possible. Please contact College Lending Solutions at 888-898-2587.

It has been some time since I have written on the blog site about defaulted student loans. If you are reading my blogs please let me know and if you have any questions about defaulted student loans please present them. I am going to be more diligent about reviewing and writting on this blog site. I did want to bring up something for all defaulted student loan borrowers that I think is very important. At this time there is a real credit crunch going on and it is very difficult to get a loan if your credit has even very small blemishes on it. I want to make everyone aware that if you have a defaulted student loan you are keeping yourself from being able to purchase a home through the FHA which usually has 3% down payments and really help first time home buyers. If you have a defaulted student loan then you need to make sure that you get that loan out of default before you go home shopping, the reason is that in this market you will find a good deal for a home and then be let down because you have a defaulted student loan keeping you from getting a mortgage approval. I get many calls from defaulted student loan borrowers that want miracles performed to get them out of default in 4 weeks and the truth is that it can be done but everything has to go right and the truth is that is not always that easy. If you are a young borrower who has defaulted on your student loans then you need to call us so that we can fix this mess before it really becomes completely overwhelming and the balance balloons from $15k-$20k to $40k-$50k it is unneccessary to have this happen to you when there are plenty of companies that for a small fee can help you get back on track. If you have any questions please call College Lending Solutions at 888-898-2587.

So it is finally time to start getting the taxes prepared so we can get our big tax refunds from the government. But wait, you have a defaulted student loan. If you have a defaulted student loan you are probably 99% getting your taxes offset to pay down your defaulted student loan. Is there any chance that you will get that refund this year - yes - but it is a very slim chance. Let me explain to you why, the government sends out a letter in September to advise you that if you dont make a reasonable and affordable payment arrangement on your defaulted student loans then they are going to offset your federal and state income taxes. There is hope to resolve this issue and that is why you need to call College Lending Solutions 888-898-2587. We will advise and help you to get the best possible payment arrangements to cure your defaulted student loans and stay away from having your wages garnished at 15% and your taxes continuing to be offset.

So you received a letter from the collection agency advising you that you have not made any suitable arrangements to resolve your defaulted student loan. You need to take that letter very seriously, for if you dont there will be consequences that may ruin your ability to keep your home or feed your family. At this point an Administrative Wage Garnishment (AWG) will take 15% of your disposable pay. You may not think that 15% is much but when it happens weekly or biweekly it hurts and it takes about 40-60 days for us to resolve this matter and there are no guarantees that we will get it stopped. We have to fill out paperwork, review it, gather a bunch of information and make it seem as though this AWG is putting you and your family into a real hardship. Even though it may put you into a hardship there are limits to what the Federal Government is willing to let you write off as expenses. Just because you have a mortgage doesnt mean that you get to write it all off, everything is based on your family size and between you and me the government needs to up the limits on what they consider is reasonable for amounts that you can claim for housing, clothes, transportation, utulities and food. The last thing you want to have to do is quit your job because you cant meet all of your obiligations. So please make sure that you call College Lending Solutions at 888.898.2587 before it is too late.

I received a call today from a man who had defaulted on his private loans. He was being harrassed and threatened to have his wages garnished and a judgement placed on his credit. I advised him that the collection agency was just acting strong and that he doesnt need to worry. He faxed over a power of attorney, I then faxed it over to the collection agency and called them to make arrangements. I wont name the collection agency (although I want to) because sometime bill collectors go way into the deep deep grey area. What kills me about this case is that I advised the collector of my background. The collector did not Mini-Miranda me (which is - This is an attempt to collect a debt and any information will be used for that purpose and that this communication is from a debt collector) and treated me like I was the bottom of his shoe (to put it lightly). Nevertheless I had to go through 4 people, call back twice for being hung up on, fax over a cease and desist for my client and then finally I made my way to the top after spending a combined 3+ hours between the client and the collection agency brokering a deal. I was able to get a payment plan for 4 months to bring the account current and I got all the derogatory information taken off his credit bureau once this is completed. This was a tough case and consumed most of my afternoon, but in the end is good to know that my client was not being harrassed at work and now he is going to have payments he can afford and his credit repaired. I do have experience in private loans but I am excited to now offer some clients who have defaulted private student loans a way out.
